Destination 2025 Plan Implementation Audit Summary

By February 1, 2017Uncategorized

As part of the process for Build One Portsmouth, an audit of the city’s last Comprehensive Plan[pdf], written in 2005, was undertaken. The audit evaluated the eight sections of the plan (Education; Land Use; Economic Development; Housing and Neighbors; Community Facilities, Services and Infrastructure; Transportation; Parks, Open Space and Environment; and Community Appearance) in order to determine where the city has made progress, what actions are still ongoing and which recommendations should be considered for future focus.

The plan was also evaluated according to the American Planning Association’s “Sustaining Places Scorecard”, which led to recommendations of several focus areas for the city’s future planning efforts, including green infrastructure planning, resiliency planning, and more.
