What do Portsmouth residents imagine for the future of their community?

On November 10, over 100 Portsmouth residents gathered at two “Focus on the Future” workshops to give their input on the future of their community. In addition, over 150 people added their voices through online participation or at pop-up engagement stations at events throughout the community.

Through this process, 287 people contributed 1811 unique comments pertaining to what they love about Portsmouth, as well as what they perceive as the city’s biggest assets and opportunities.

“I love the small town feel of Portsmouth. I’ve lived in Chesapeake, Norfolk, Virginia Beach, and Portsmouth and Portsmouth is the only one where I’ve gotten into real conversations with complete strangers in the parking lot of a grocery store.” –Portsmouth resident, online comment
