Build One Portsmouth is making headlines and inviting people to participate in the upcoming Focus on the Future Workshops.
The City is updating its 2005 plan because many things have changed since then including the demographics of the city plus many of the city’s goals from that plan have already been met. Some of the accomplishments of the 2005 Comprehensive Plan include the revitalizing of the Frederick Boulevard Corridor, increased collaboration between Tidewater Community College and the city’s high schools plus a revision to the zoning ordinance and the construction of a second Midtown Tunnel tub and MLK connector.
“It’s not that at the end of this plan, Portsmouth will be perfect,” Project Manager Brian Swets said. “But having a good comprehensive plan is a necessary first step to building a better future for your city.”
